Cameron Bowles

Cameron's thirty years of experience in international development, leadership and education have included senior leadership roles with International Development and Government agencies, NGOs, Universities and consultancies. This professional experience includes over 15 years in the Pacific, recently in leadership consultancy work and previously employed with the Australian Department for Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) and the Pacific Community (SPC). Cameron has also worked in Africa, the Middle East, Central America, South Asia, and Northern Ireland and was CEO of Education Action International based in London. He has been a board member of Multilateral funds (Global Partnership for Education) and a trustee of international/domestic NGOs.

Cameron develops, designs and facilitates programs to strengthen the role of leadership in domestic and international development contexts and support people in addressing difficult, complex, and intractable issues. Cameron is a founder of CLA (Centre for Leadership and Adaptive Development) in Australia and a partner of CLA International. His current work is primarily in the Pacific and in Australia.

Programs he facilitates include The Australian Public Service Commission – Senior Executive Leadership Program, Grampian's Health Leadership Program, Pacific Fisheries Leadership Program, Women Leading and Influencing and many others. He also works with senior executive teams in higher education and health services to support them in strengthening their leadership capability.

Cameron has a degree in Economics (Sydney University), an MBA (Open University UK) and has continued executive education and post-graduate studies in leadership and international development at Harvard Kennedy School, Open University, Sussex University, NIODA, World Bank, University of Southern California and Tavistock institute and worked in delivering programs with the Kansas Leadership Centre and the University of Queensland.
